“Stay away, lad! That’s Prime’s fight!” — Kup, in the original 1986 Transformers animated movie. I just watched Michael Bay’s Transformers movie at the Gateway Globe Platinum Theater. Believe it or not, it’s even more of an abomination than everyone expected it to be — from jumpy editing to fake graphics to gibberish computerspeak to […]Click here to continue reading "Transformers Movie Review: Optimus Prime was Robbed!"...Transformers Movie Review: Optimus Prime was Robbed!

I just have to quote Blahblah coz this really made me laugh…
—————————————
But remember what Stephen Hawking often says, “Those who like to call everyone around them stupid are usually the dumb ones.â€
Ok. first, let me get this clear. I’m a female.
So, I grew up in the 80’s. I watched a “little” transformers with my younger brother and so I got to know the G1 autobots and specially was fond of Bumblebee and Spike. But I really didn’t follow it through the whole story.
I went to see Transformers. I expected a lot of action. I expected human interaction, since their slogan was “Our world, their war.” I expected also to see Spike since Bumblebee was all over the previews. Well, coming from a female moviegoer who grew up in the 80s but played with Cabbage patch kids and watch rainbow brite instead, “the movie was frickin’ awesome.” I respect the way that Michael Bay did this version. I guess he wanted to start off somewhere. of course, the Earth is a good place to start anyway. it has to have human interaction or else it wouldn’t appeal to most of the target audiences. If he starts it off in Cybertron or their planet or anywhere in the galaxy, I guess I wouldn’t go and see it…being a female, robots fighting each other in another galaxy is never appealing to me. So in all fair and due respect to the director and the guys at dreamworks, this movie really worked. I understood the story and I would be more than willing to watch the sequel.
Let’s bear in mind that this movie was not intended for the Transformers fans alone. It has to cater the new generation, the ones who never even heard of Optimus Prime. My niece is so adorable in mimicking bumblebee transform, with matching sound. and she’s only 7 years old! (the movie is GP here so she was able to watch)
So you guys continue to rumble, grumble, rant, rave.
But my opinion is: Transformers is an awesome movie. I’d give it an A
Missy,
You belong to the 85% of females who think this movie rocks.
Read below an article from LA Times:
“Reviews for ‘Transformers’ have been respectable and audiences have given it high marks in exit surveys and at the movie fan site IMDB.com. Ticket sales have been strong in heavily Latino and African American markets.
Females age 25 and up have been the most enthusiastic in their exit surveys, with about 85% saying they would ‘definitely recommend’ the movie.”
Now as for Mike, 85% of women are now part of what he calls the “dumbed-down society.”
But it doesn’t matter, this guy has such high standards in just about everything, robot movies, especially.
I’m sure he only dates the alpha females, the top 1% of the population (to hell with the 99%), whom I am sure would find this movie stupid and “homocentric.” I’m sure these alpha females would share Mike’s obssession with Optimus Prime’s sorry depiction.
NOT!
As if a girl (alpha female or not) would be so engrossed with these little details. They know how to loosen up and have a good time, ain’t it, Missy?
From Mike:
“An ancient warrior-king talks like a teenage valley girl. That’s just stupid.”
What’s so stupid about an ancient warrior-king talking like a teenage valley girl, Mike?
So…talking like a teenage valley girl implies you have no right to become a king and a warrior?
Hmmm…if I remember correctly, Joan of Arc was a teenage warrior-general. Cleopatra was a valley girl. Nile valley, that is. But still…
Well, you get my point.
I saw the movie twice July 4 and July 6 im a big Transformers fan i knew that it was directed by Micheal Bay
which is a turnoff but i would have to say the movie was great but there are problems with it just like every other movie for 1) to many advertisements 2) No character development but theres a reason for that and they were on budget 3)Sector 7 that movie would have a grade A movie without sector 7 theres no point for so instead of waisting money on the actors they could have used that money on the transformers themselves 4) Megaton and Starscream don’t have a conflict at all only once for like 10 seconds 5) And Prime has a mouth 6) Bad editing. Now i watched the movie twice first time to see just because its title is Transformers and then i saw it again to pick out the problems there are many more problems with the movie but who cares the movie was great but out of all the top 6 problems, character development was the worst who cares if Jazz dies he was just one of them good bots trying to retrieve the allspark.
