Kyo Ritu Art Cosplay Photostudio

In an interesting nod to Philippine cosplay culture, Kyo Ritu Art has acquired a few costumes famously worn by Filipina cosplay princess Alodia Gosiengfiao: her Black Mage costume from Final Fantasy, her Lili Rochefort costume from Tekken, her Misa Amane costume from Death Note, and her gothloli Haruhi Suzumiya costume from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. That’s right, cosplay fangirls: now you can become Alodia for a day, wearing her actual costumes.

General Manager Chulet Querubin informs me that the driving force behind Kyo Ritu Art is former Japanese Senator Hiroharu Kouda. In Japan, Kyo Ritu Art provides diverse graphic design services, from wall art to racing decals. A year of research into the thriving Philippine cosplay scene convinced them to pursue this offbeat overseas opportunity. With Kyo Ritu Art opening a cosplay photostudio in the Philippines, the former Senator joins Japan’s remarkable push to export its cutting-edge pop culture.

Kyo Ritu Art plans to open a second branch of their cosplay photostudio next year. Their plans extend beyond importing costumes: they hope to put up a costume factory in the Philippines, applying Japanese costume-making techniques to Filipino raw materials. If Kyo Ritu Art’s vision comes to fruition, Araneta Center may well become the next Harajuku.

Kyo Ritu Art Digital Photography and Cosplay Photostudio is located on the upper ground floor of Ali Mall in Araneta Center, Quezon City, Metro Manila.
