It’s based on a cartoon for children, so do not expect “rich characters.” And enough with the melodrama, i.e., you find it an “abomination” and so forth.
Even characters from a children’s cartoon are better-developed than Bay’s monstrosities.
In what way? Good vs. evil. Good wins, evil loses. Lots of action and special effects. How profound.
The problem isn’t Michael Bay but what producers want. For all we know, the director could have turned this into an “R” film (e.g., many humans are slaughtered and the Deceptecons win) but that would have meant lower profits.
In the series, you knew who was fighting who, and you actually cared.
You couldn’t tell who was fighting who in Bay’s movie, and you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
Looks like Mr Abundo is just another idiot who’s trying to stir things up to make a few $$…or is that pesos? He sounds pretty greedy by showing how shallow he is. And I bet he secretly liked the movie! For Mikey Bakla and everyone else…if you dont go to see movies for the entertainment value, then dont go see them at all. Transformers was a great and fun movie…thats as deep as it needs to be described. Get a life and enjoy a movie for a change!
