“Stay away, lad! That’s Prime’s fight!” — Kup, in the original 1986 Transformers animated movie. I just watched Michael Bay’s Transformers movie at the Gateway Globe Platinum Theater. Believe it or not, it’s even more of an abomination than everyone expected it to be — from jumpy editing to fake graphics to gibberish computerspeak to […]Click here to continue reading "Transformers Movie Review: Optimus Prime was Robbed!"...Transformers Movie Review: Optimus Prime was Robbed!

Yes, shucker, photorealistic CGI has long been mainstream. That’s why this movie can’t get away with just having great CGI and nothing else.
c’mon people, it is not the 80’s anymore, or what did you wanted a 10 feet tall robot to turn into a 5″ gun??. none of you have the entire collection of the Transformers or did you forget the million of errors it has? please take off your startrek ears and all that freaky fan stuffs!
…and remember the main objective of the 1984’s Transformers series…. SELL TOYS!! … and you are defending and crying for that … c’mon !! we fell for that one!!
Action, characters, story, editing, and focus are “all that freaky fan stuffs” (sic)? The dumbing-down continues…
This is toward azrach187. A review is an opinion . No shit film is subjective . A critic watches the film and tells the public what he felt along with some facts. Some critics reveal spoilers, others simply give a play by play of what they saw and others rant and nit pick for every single error and plot hole. They ALL have a right to be heard…
“it takes a degree in Film Criticsm and History to actually give you a right to give a personal opinion about a film. Imagine a proper review.” It’s called free speech. If you think Ebert or Roeper are more professional and value their opinions more then good for you, in the end, they are telling you what they feel.
Take my review for example. Are you going to argue that the story lacked character development and too much time was devoted to a weak plot? Or do I need to spend $60,000 dollars on some degree to tell you that? I could have nit picked the film to death but I chose to stick to what was REALLY wrong with the film and keep the nit picking for friends and forums. I also said the movie was worth watching despite it’s flaws yet many refuse to acknowledge the possibility that this movie has flaws.
