“Stay away, lad! That’s Prime’s fight!” — Kup, in the original 1986 Transformers animated movie. I just watched Michael Bay’s Transformers movie at the Gateway Globe Platinum Theater. Believe it or not, it’s even more of an abomination than everyone expected it to be — from jumpy editing to fake graphics to gibberish computerspeak to […]Click here to continue reading "Transformers Movie Review: Optimus Prime was Robbed!"...Transformers Movie Review: Optimus Prime was Robbed!

Dead-on review, Ruben. Michael Bay initially dismissed Transformers as a “stupid toy movie.” That’s why he reduced the titular characters into nothing but stupid toys.
As a big robot fan…I liked the movie…but the “camera work” was the worst I’ve ever seen. Did’t see the robots…did’nt see the action…could’nt tell what anyone was doing during any action scene.
You obviously are in the wrong line of work. Who ever asked you to be a critic should have their testicles removed? It seems they definitly owed you a favor. First of all, your pre-screening rights should be revoked. Second, I see you write just to amuse yourself and have no Idea what you are talking about. From looking at some of the replies, it looks like you had it dead nuts backwards anyways. I have never replied to one of these comment forums and have also never felt compelled to reply to one so, when I say you piss me off, I mean it. I just saw the movie when it just came out and it was incredible down to the story plot. It was definitly refreshing to see the new body styles and would of probably laughed out of the theatre if I saw a volkswaggon, a cassette tape or a giant gun. At least Prime was still a Semi. Amen Brotha! Hmmm, the movie was about 200mil and the robots were in the movie half the time as you say? I aint no Gas Station attendant or nuttin but probably just a quarter more of robots would have been another $100Mil. If they listened to you and still had a budget, we would have seen goofy T-Rex rubber looking annimation like in J.Park! That movie was every bit of $10. I cant wait to see it again and buy the DVD. I advise you to buy the DVD also and get rid or your VHS because your definitly stuck in the 80’s you feathered hair, parted in the middle freak. If I ever see that name of yours or ever see you on the street you will get slapped in the face just for being you. Well, youll probably think of something witty to say all day to rebuttle or might even say, you spell bad but, you words and comments do not mean anything to anyone. I do know this for a fact. My advise and you need advice, is to get back into the other job your doing because you will definitly not make any money from your critiques!!! If you purposely Dumb movies down when they deserve more credit then they are do, then you are doing a GREAT job. I hope who ever is in charge of you sees this and jumps on the band waggon because you are not only not good, you are really bad at what you do. I do not hate anyone but, I do hate you. You ruin movies for everyone so, move on you persnickety SOB!!! Alright, good talk….
Tony, Megatron has a famous line in the 1986 movie: “I’ll rip out your optics!” That’s exactly what Bay’s camera work does in this movie.
I’m shaking in my boots. Skeet skeet skeet! 😛
