Kanye West Blasts Twitter Poser

This is what you get when you don’t pay attention to “geeky” stuff before it’s “cool”. Twitter user kanyewest is pretending to be rapper Kanye West on Twitter, accumulating 7,997 of Kanye’s fans as followers. Now Kanye whines about it on his blog.

If Kanye’s lucky, Twitter might intervene and give the poser’s account to him, the same way they did with Al Gore — but Kanye is hardly as important as Gore. Of course, the best solution would have been for Kanye to register the Twitter username “kanyewest” when Twitter was getting cool with geeks back in March ’07. Maybe then he would’ve beaten the poser to the punch, since the first post on the account is dated August ’07.

Let Kanye’s misfortune serve as an object lesson: don’t ignore the geeky stuff. Today’s geeky is tomorrow’s cool. 😉
