(UPDATE, 6:16 PM GMT+8: When he attacked me over a question about Alodia’s engagement with Level Up, JM Chua failed to mention that he no longer works for Level Up. Level Up Marketing Manager Mon Macutay has informed me that Mr. Chua has not been connected with Level Up since November 2006. Mr. Chua now […]Click here to continue reading "Gaming Supervisor Punches Blogger"...

Typo, it should be “are you sure”

i dunno whats up with the Level UP/AMDG thing. the guy just hates you thats about it. i don’t really see the point in posting where he works or eats or whatever he does when he’s not kicking your ass.

I think your headline and content should be

    ————————————————————–
“Someone hit me like a girl and I cried about it”

Some guy at some convention hit me and i was too afraid to fight back. but i saw his work ID so i decided to take it out on his company even though that guy was out on a Saturday probably on his day off. maybe i will feel better when he gets spanked on the wrist and is told not to do it again. but then maybe I’m just gonna try to sensationalize it like some gossip column then people would pay more attention to me… and maybe love me… COZ NOONE LOVES ME!!!

First off, what Mr. Chua did was wrong. He should not have inflicted bodily harm against Mr. Abundo for any reason at all–provoked or not. It was smart of Mike not to hit back.

However, Mike should have treated this issue simply as a personal one. The choice of words for the title of the post alone is very evident about the intention of giving JM’s company in a bad light. That was why LUG’s Marketing Manager was quick even bothered to post in this circus of a thread that Mr. Chua is no longer connected with them. He knows how “famous” this blog is and a negative headline screaming violence with his company’s name first won’t do them any good. Mike should as well made it read like: “Asian Media Supervisor Punches the Vice-President for Emerging Technologies of the Philippine Internet Commerce Society who identifies and analyzes nascent IT trends of potential benefit to the Filipino people.” I guess a more accurate headline would be “JM Chua punched me at Mangaholix – and he hits like a girl!”

Regardless whether JM is currently with LUG or AMDG, I’m sure that these companies would, and will take the logical course of action–treat it as a personal issue. Nothing more than a petty scruffle involving one of their employees and some guy. Like what was posted earlier, Mr. Chua was not representing his or any company in any manner. It was not even a company-related event, let alone committed during company hours. If Mr. Abundo is expecting JM’s company to react by giving Mr. Chua some sort of a disciplinary action, then I think he will be disappointed. Counselling was all JM got and that’s where it’ll end–a mere slap on the wrist, if you can call it that.

Mike writes: “Oh, great. So if Malaysian and Singaporean bloggers ask questions about Lineage II, will he fly over there and attack them too?” – come on, Mike! That’s a logic of a kid! I do hope you’re smarter than to follow that kind of reasoning! The fact is, Mr. Chua did not attack/punch/jabbed you like a girl for asking a “simple” question. For whatever reasons those are, that’s between you two.

If I was Mr. Abundo, (which thankfully I’m not) and if I’d really want to get back at Mr. Chua, I’d seriously think about pressing charges. I’m sure you have a lot of witnesses–you can even start off from this thread! I’m just not sure how the trial might look like though…

    LAWYER: Then what happenned?
Mr. Abundo: He punched me, sir.
    LAWYER: Where?
Mr. Abundo: No–he gave me a “girlish tap.”
LAWYER: Alright… where did he “tap” you?
Mr. Abundo: In the abs your honor.
LAWYER: You mean in the gut?
    Mr. Abundo: Oh–yes, your honor.
LAWYER: How hard did he hit, oh sorry, “tap” you?
Mr. Abundo: Like a girl, sir.
LAWYER: Did you had yourself checked out by a medical professional?
Mr. Abundo: Yes. They couldn’t find any marks or traces.
LAWYER: Was it because he “taps” like a girl?
Mr. Abundo: I guess so… but it hurts your honor!
Mr. Chua: Objection! I do not tap like a girl!
    Mr. Abundo: Yes, you do!
    Mr. Chua: Does not!
    Mr. Abundo: Does too!

    (I smell movie rights–even a TV series!)

Seriously Mike, stop crying and complaining to the wrong people. Stop hitting the refresh button every thirty seconds and do something serious! Let’s see how this Mr. Chua faces a lawsuit. Then fast forward a several years–if you’re lucky, he’ll be found guilty and now Mr. Chua’s company would seriously think about being associated with a convicted employee. And that would make everyone take Michael Patrick Abundo seriously.
