GMA asked permission from Toei, the owner of Shaider’s rights. Every detail was approved by Toei. Zaido is actually not a rip-off but a continuation of the saga.
Tsaka parang mahirap naman na ulitin yung Shaider. Una, the actor who played Alexis is already dead. Second, the actress who played Annie became a porn star so parang tarnished na din.
Based on the previews, the second Zaido named Alexis is the direct descendant of Alexis, the original Shaider.
