GMA to Destroy Shaider
Philippine TV network GMA is about to make their own version of the tokusatsu classic Shaider. The genius director they’ve chosen for the job? Dominic Zapata, the same guy who ripped off Sailormoon and denied it. The show will replace GMA’s short-lived Indiana Jones/Lara Croft double ripoff Asian Treasures. speaking of Amy, dapat fighter sya dun eh si Annie nga na ginampanan ni Naomi Morinaga eh tumatalon sa bangin, sa building, tumatambling at kung ano ano pang stunts samantalang si amy eh puro cry cry
I happened to watch Zaido intro at youtube. In my dismay, GMA claimed to have availed of the best Philippine actors and actresses to incorporate drama in an action/adventure Shaido?! Did I see it right or I was only dreaming. Lorna T. and was that Tia Pusit slapping faces! Are they catering these scenes for the young audiences? Enough of dramas! We don’t need to come up with a fusion of japanese genre with a touch of filipino emotions… E-N-O-U-G-H-!!!. We don’t need much of playbacks on the past lives of the metal heroes. It’s time to be clean- just pure adventure and fight scenes. Junk love stories/ controversies. “Bird brained individuals!”
To Shaiderfan:
You are definitely right in a way we cannot extinguish the Maria Clara and Ibarra culture among filipinos. However, we have minds of our own. That’s why directors must be radical. He must know how to divert everything and create another world apart from the culture that we have. Anyways, Zaido is not true to life, let’s just stick into it. The problem is they are linking the genre with the reality. That is the reason why the remake is in bondage! And hey, just what I thought, the kubos and slum areas in Shaido are still in! What a shame!
WHY NOT PORTRAYING THE PHILIPPINES IN THE ADVANCE STAGE OF MODERN SOCIETY. ANYWAYS ZAIDO IS NOT REALITY. In fantasy, Philippines is still in the bondage of POVERTY!!!
Just a comment, who was that poor kid in Zaido, who was with Dennis Trillo… he’s so DOMESTIC including the dramatic casts! What an attire!!!
