Tila Tequila Concert Assailant Confesses on YouTube
As a general rule, you really shouldn’t brag about your crimes on YouTube — or anywhere else on the Internet, for that matter. Apparently, some people don’t abide by that rule. In 2008, a bunch of teenagers beat up sixteen-year-old Victoria Lindsay and posted a video of the beating on YouTube. Needless to say, they were immediately identified and apprehended.Skip ahead to 2010. French-Vietnamese singer Tila Tequila, the queen of MySpace, was invited to perform at an Illinois music festival called the Gathering of the Juggalos. For those unfamiliar with Midwest horrorcore and street gangs, “Juggalos” are fans of the hip hop duo Insane Clown Posse.
A Continuing History of Violence
Unfortunately, Juggalos aren’t your usual harmless fanboys and groupies. They’ve been linked to numerous violent crimes, up to and including murder. Police authorities in Utah, Arizona, Monroe County, and Modesto actually classify Juggalos as a gang.
On August 14, 2010, at the behest of concert organizers, Tila got on stage to perform at the Gathering of the Juggalos. The crowd immediately assaulted her, throwing everything from cans to bottles to rocks to firecrackers. Bruised and bloodied, Tila tried to smile and continue performing. Eventually, security guards had to escort Tila off stage for her own safety. Even then, hundreds of Juggalos chased her to a trailer and smashed the windows.
Stupid Criminals and Social Media
Proud of his role in this vicious attack on a defenseless woman, one particular Juggalo decided to broadcast his stupidity. Right after posting bail for kicking one of the security guards in the chest, he posted a YouTube video bragging about his actions. In the video, he also describes how he would’ve murdered Tila by stomping on her head, had he caught up with her.
Yes, you read that right. This idiot just confessed to assault on YouTube — with a resounding “WHOO!”
This Juggalo may be out on bail right now, but this video certainly won’t help his chances in court. For most people, social media provides a great avenue for conversation. For stupid criminals, social media provides a great avenue for confession.
