Up to this point, Alodia has blogged mostly about geek culture, making her similar in tone to Olivia Munn.

By golly you’re right. I believe she can groom herself to be a real tech writer. She’s got the confidence to pull it off.

Good luck to her. I hope she took some units in CW aside from ID subjects. The CW subjects help a lot in crafting technical writing skill.

Although, it wouldn’t work for me anymore since I’m starting to get sick and tired.

Hey, I never took creative writing courses. Having written for PC Magazine Philippines and various international tech blogs, I like to think I turned out okay as a tech writer. 😉

Still, you’re right. Those courses would help. 🙂

her first post is a laugh. She posted about a lens that was introduced almost a decade ago. What the heck? And canon just released an L of that lens.

It’s just another place for her to whore her fancy pvc figures. Ok, not bad, but so not tech.

Wow mike, I kinda worried there for quite some time. You have rarely blogged about cosplay and your darling alodia for quite a while.

  5. Mike says:

Why do I get this feeling that males comment on her blog posts only because they want to get her attention? Do they really think something would ever come out of their comments in Alodia’s blog posts?

    Cynical, I know.

I just noticed it because no one hardly ever comments on the other Techie posts. When Alodia started writing for Techie, the comments suddenly started coming and they’re just saying “great post!” even if frankly, it’s not that awesome anyways. In fact, Chorva said the lens was a decade old.

A powerful personal brand is a powerful personal brand, regardless of the motivations for brand loyalty. 😉

That’s life. It’s about a matter of time, but she will surpass the age old respected artists and photogs in popularity. Whether it would be real trained skill/ talent or fanboy bias. I dont think it would matter (like mr abundo said). That’s business. If a semi experienced techie with model like beauty and anime figs to boot would help sell you more hits and magazines than a 40 yr old hippie geek who has a journalism major and communications degree, people would definetely go for the former. Why not?
