Guild Wars 4th Anniversary Update
Guild Wars gets fundamental with its fourth anniversary update, addressing something that’s been a prevalent issue since the game began: storage. New equipment packs and storage tabs will help alleviate players’ need to constantly clean out inventories and juggle mule characters, time-consuming processes that regularly interfere with actual gameplay.
The new Zaishen Menagerie will allow players to unlock pets in various stages of evolution. Players can even have their pets trained for evolution. Since its inception, Guild Wars has been very proactive about reducing grind; now players won’t have to grind their pets as much, either.
Finally, the daily Zaishen Challenge Quests will give advanced players even more variety in their sandbox play. I love hunting down bosses, so the new boss bounty quests will definitely appeal to me.
The new content isn’t world-shaking, but it is the most comprehensive anniversary update so far. Kudos to ArenaNet on continuing to improve Guild Wars through the years.

I’m partly surprised at the update and partly not because it’s the obvious decision to take considering the delay in GW2. Have to keep GW1 attractive for a few more years.
Also, it is about time that they start selling upgrades to non-balance-sensitive stuff like buying extra storages. Now I’m thinking of buying all 3 (max is 3 additional tabs), that will be around U$30.00.
But I’ll wait, they’re going to have a promo where they’ll give away 1 free storage tab. If that counts towards the max of 3, then I only have to buy 2 extra hehe :p
I wonder when will Blizzard will open their own. It’s already in the game, they just haven’t opened it up. “At the end of the day, it’s all about money.” 😀
Guild Wars is all about balance. ArenaNet should just let us play with everything else. Personally, I’d like to see characters as heroes. 🙂
I hope they’ll implement it in GW2 if not GW1. It’s great to be with your own characters than with a built-in char.

You can’t change race yet, but you can change gender now. ArenaNet calls it the Extreme Makeover. 😉
