It was only about time someone found a way to remove those horrendous looking things. Youtube needs to fix how those things look, other video sites have better looking font. Shame on Youtube.
Perhaps they should include an option to change the font itself.
Youtube is going down the tubes. Between the search box and the titles and the ratings, methinks they are getting desperado.
I don’t mind feature-rich embeds as long as I have the option to turn off each of those features, without resorting to API hackery.
Same. They can add all they want to add, but be sure we still have “options”.
Is it me or is Youtube just getting really retarded with these changes?
No it’s not you. This falls in the bucket of trivial but optical improvements by developers proving their worth.
Google’s developers usually have the discipline to avoid feature creep. That discipline seems to lapse on YouTube.
First, let me be neither the first nor last to tell you that your cheesy profile photo is so bad it’s good again… then bad again. π
I really don’t like those stars on the player. It shouldn’t be the default. It’s not like the stars are usually earned. Unless it’s a super popular video, a few ratings will change it (usually only about 1 percent of people rate my videos).
I like cheese too, Nalts. π
Youβre right about those stars. When I embed a video, I want it to fit into the context of my site, not the context provided by a few raters on YouTube.
Thank you!
I really needed to get rid of these overlays, I’m very glad I found your site.
Brilliant!
Phil
Glad to be of service, Philip. π
