@ pressy: honestly, i don’t see the relationship between that stealing of filcosplay domain name events to this drama (although that was one of the lists of things why people in the cosplay community hate the asshole). it’s not even mentioned by the people who posted here — unless of course I misread some of the posts here, kindly point it out.

With regards of this issue, the problem lies here is that Mike Abundo was WELL AWARE that the name already exists and is a matter of time that the said community will buy the domain. Unfortunately, due to monetary constraints, the “asshole” decided to buy it.
AND it doesn’t stop there. He bought and REDIRECTED it to his cosplay forum in which he is promoting war against the Filcosplay site. Take note: Filcosplay never promoted the war the asshole wanted.
When everyone was notified of these events, he then said that he will be donating the domain in exchange of a gratitude — in terms of posting a sticky in one of the threads hailing him as god who bought the domain name.
We are not arguing about who owns the domain, we were arguing the fact that the “asshole” had bought it for spite because, fact remains that filcosplay has more UNIQUE hits rather than his pathetic site will ever have.
And now you accuse the filcosplay people are the ones who posts here? I highly doubt it. But unless you can specify how you knew about this.

And no, I don’t believe that a person represent his/her company everytime they go out of the office. Like you, you do not represent egames when you commented on this blog — unless of course you OWN the company. Business is business. Personal is personal. Are you walking around and telling them that you are from egames and when you say something bad, people will think ill of egames? I don’t think so.
Here’s the stupidity of your logic: You ASSUME that ALL the people who posted here are from the filcosplay group. You also ASSUME that the stolen domain name or whatever you called it are the only reason why people hate the “asshole” so much. Are these are all YOUR assumptions or did someone whispered it to your ear and decided to post it here?
Yes, I admit, some people who posted here are like 7 yr olds — even the “asshole” himself posts (and acts) like a 7 yr old and all for what? A mere slap on the backside.
And FYI, I was there in that event. I saw some people got a shot of what had transpired when they met and I did not saw JM punched the “asshole” in the gut. Unfortunately, the “asshole” was not a rabid talker when it comes to person-to-person confrontation. So as his “bitch”.
He bragged about it in writing, in public.
everyone is free to buy unregistered domains. I could always register mikeabundo.com and redirect it to GameOPS if mike fails to renew it. Or I could sell the domain to mike, quadruple the price. That’s reality folks. Even PLDT had a hard time getting their .com address.
Fortunately for all of us, that won’t happen. 😉
