The thing about sentai shows is that the japanese plot is the best nearly all the time and the US interpretation is always good at times to meh. Even the mahou-ranger plot though cheeky was actually better in japanese than the US version.
To defend US shows putting up inspired stuff, its good enough to stand on its own. I’ve started catching up on the US version of the office after falling in love w/ the UK version and its good and novel in its own way. The US are masters are repackaging old formats and making them kind of a new cool, about 45-50% of the time.
Also I like it how those who direct-produce are those who really connect to the series well. Due to the lack of diversity of that chemistry in the Philippine (maybe they hold people back, for real!) TV, you don’t get to see very well orchestrated shows. Just shows that seem good but is just fluff and filler. Even in comic-book adaptation movies its apparent when you see a project where the director-production team just dosn’t match well w/ the subject matter of the movie and it becomes bleh.

geez there are so many haters on this site. why are you accusing ONE PERSON in particular? hello, Dominic Zapata does not call the shots. He is a director, with A WHOLE TEAM of people, He does not write the storyline or choose the title. WRITERS AND P.U.M.s (Program Unit Managers) DO. SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE. Dami nag-mamarunong its soooo damn funny. Daming pathetic dito. *cringe*
