New Google Webmaster Tools: Crawl Rate and Enhanced Image Search

Tags: |

Google Webmaster Tools, those nifty little toys that let wbemasters tell Google how to crawl their sites, recently rolled out two new features: Crawl Rate and Enhanced Image Search.

Google Crawl Rate

Besides showing me how hard Google is sucking my content, Crawl Rate lets me control just how hard. It’s great for sites that frequently spew content. I’ve jacked it up to Faster on any site I can, including this one. Yes, I have big bandwidth.

Google Enhanced Image Search

Copyright nuts be damned, I want Google to find my pictures. That’s why I’ve turned on Enhanced Image Search for all my sites. It’ll run images through such labeling tools as the fun Google Image Labeler.

Webmasters would do well to explore these new tools. As I’ve said before, if you cannot be searched, you do not exist.
