I’m fine with the G1. I use with a prepaid SIM without any load since if there’s no wifi signal, it automatically switches to 3G. If I’m away from home and there’s a wifi signal, I use it to scan my bookmarked websites including email. I note interesting items which I later view on my PC. Otherwise, as a standalone computer, its great: touch screen, google maps, GPS, bar code scanner, podcast scanner and other great apps. Its worth every centavo of the 16K pesos I paid for it at Ebay
The G1 sounds very well-suited to the mostly-prepaid Philippine mobile scene. Filipino carriers should take note. Thanks for the great review, Larrisa!
You got a great price, by the way. It’s available in the Philippines for PhP 34,500.
i’m using a G1 with also a prepaid sim (globe) but since the wifi signal is off i cant seem to get through signing into the google account. It doesnt seem to switch to 3G. would it help if the sim has load?
