Six Plurk Karma Bait Strategies
Tags: Microblogging | Plurk
Plurk is a microblogging service with a game-like twist: a “karma” point system that rewards active users with access to cute little extra features. One way to get lots of Plurk karma is to die tragically. Another way is to get people to comment on your “Plurks”.
Tech blogger Rico Mossesgeld apparently spends too much time on Plurk. He’s compiled a list of six proven Plurk karma bait strategies:
- Sell something.
- Get angry at a “mysterious” someone.
- Share a blind item.
- Piss off another plurker on your friend list.
- Share something genuinely cool.
- Appeal to the lowest common denominator.
This is one of the reasons I prefer Twitter. Twitter bragging rights are based solely on followers. Real followers are harder to game than artificial points. Now if Plurk karma were redeemable for cash, we’d have a cottage industry.
