Alodia in the News
Nevermind that Filipina blogger Alodia Gosiengfiao is pretty in this picture, or that the composition provides a visual metaphor for her newsworthiness as a Filipina otaku queen and a case study in personal online branding. That’s not what I found remarkable about this picture.
What I found remarkable is that she posted it under a Creative Commons license. For all you fanboys out there, that means you are explicitly free to repost this picture as long as you follow a specific set of rules recognized by Philippine law. Before this, she always released content under old-fashioned permission-based copyright.
In an interview last week, the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Alex Villafania asked for my opinion of Alodia as a blogger. If she keeps embracing digital abundance this way, that opinion just might go up a notch.
