GMA to Destroy Shaider

Philippine TV network GMA is about to make their own version of the tokusatsu classic Shaider. The genius director they’ve chosen for the job? Dominic Zapata, the same guy who ripped off Sailormoon and denied it. The show will replace GMA’s short-lived Indiana Jones/Lara Croft double ripoff Asian Treasures. Oh yeah, all this rehashing and […]Click here to continue reading "GMA to Destroy Shaider"...

I was going to say there was a criticism statement on the zaido wiki-page. But apparently it has now turned into a pro GMA7 zaido viral info site (ugh!) complete with fictional rating numbers and embellishment of the truth. Further shows that the fans of that tripe can’t handle the stink so they cover it up with a garbage lid to hide to the entire globe.

I think we all should log in and repeatedly try to add the backlash statement of shaider fans towards zaido.

Someone post something on the shaider wiki page too regarding zaido along the lines of “it was shown, but it was not well recieved by fans of shaider due to inconsistencies with the storyline and completely being unfaithful to the spirit of the metal heroes. GMA7 only decided to use its name and likeness to ride on its former coattails and attempt to ruin its great name to where it was popular”.

BTW wikipedia isn’t exactly about truth anymore at times… especially on stuff thats very two sided like this. Great job shishiyo! Try use a proxy and sign under a new account.

Hi guys! My bro (Shishiyo) and I already tried using a different name. It seems that the muthaf*krs had our IP address blocked. But cheer up! I’ve already requested unblocking. Once the ban is lifted, HAPPY TIMES ARE HERE AGAIN!!

Hey Agatha, cheer up! Maybe it’s for the viewers’ own sanity that TOEI refused the remaking of Maskman (especially with Gerald Anderson and Kim Chu? Nothing against them but, the role calls for much experienced, much older and less exposed actors) and possibly, they rejected the idea of another Pinoy channel remaking it what happened to Zaido (let’s face it, many Shaider fans don’t hate it, they ABHOR and DETEST IT! You know what I think killed Rounin despite its good visual effects and cool fighting scenes? It’s the overabudance of loveteams and the i-love-my-family-my-gf-my-friends-and-whoever-looks-important-to-me-that’s-why-i’m-doing-this-for-them sentiment. A little, subtle drama moment is ok but it wasn’t supposed to eat up more than 20% of the story. I read here somewhere that the reason why many Philippine programs are like these is because of the Ibarra-Maria Clara loveteam. Yes, I acknowledge that we pinoys are romantic and sappy by heart but look at Shaider, it’s one of the shows that became a hit even if Alexis doesn’t get to touch Annie other than a diplomatic hand shake. It’s time to think out of the usual format, people!

Yeah pinoy TV can never evolve dramatically because they keep feeding on old formulas (love teams, pinoy themed themed mentality, etc.) and as I have said, even if you use 3D and effects, it does not hide the redundancy of the ideas thats being used. However its hard to achieve outside-of-the-box thinking, especially when most of the TV viewership are waging a bragging war as opposed to presenting original ideas. And the fact that both mainstream stations are filled with people who are way too conservative to try something defyingly-unpinoy (Rounin did come close, but still was bogged down).
