GMA to Destroy Shaider
Philippine TV network GMA is about to make their own version of the tokusatsu classic Shaider. The genius director they’ve chosen for the job? Dominic Zapata, the same guy who ripped off Sailormoon and denied it. The show will replace GMA’s short-lived Indiana Jones/Lara Croft double ripoff Asian Treasures. Oh yeah, all this rehashing and […]Click here to continue reading "GMA to Destroy Shaider"...|

Sir Kamen, pakisend sakin yung account at password ng Myspace… MY EMAIL IS kalayaanx10a@hotmail.com. I am planning to do a blow-by-blow timeline and article regarding the beginnings, tenets and ideals of the Order of Tokusatsu Fans of the Philippines and the Zaido Persecution Army…. as well as improving yung Panatang MakaToku.
Just as a note: writer po ako sa isang school paper dito sa Ateneo. May GA kami bukas so I was thinking about raising the topic to our edboard if we could incorporate the issue on Tokusatsu and Zaido in this upcoming issue.. madalas kaming magdelve-in sa iba-ibang nonmainstream topics… baka magkachance, can I ask for your support in any case the idea would be approved at ako ang maasign sa article na yun…
And who knows, baka may makapagreact na mahusay…
(balak ko sanang ilagay sa lampoon nang makita ng GMA ang kahihiyang ginawa nila sa sarili nila…)
Alvin: Oo nga ano? Eh di siguro ang ganda-ganda ng lumalabas na Power Rangers.
Sabagay, the quality of the end product depends on who handles it. There are some producers who make profit out of something that they are passionate about esp. the ones with a huge cult following and end up in a win-win situation both for them and the faithful followers. On the other end, there are producers who take on something that is not close to their heart but take it anyway for the sole purpose of making money out of it. Just like what happened when Disney took over Saban and the unscrupulous producers of Zaido who masterminded the most embarrassing and shameful Toku show rip-off in Philippine TV history.
Karakuka, I like your idea of putting the battle on your paper. I happened to be a writer, too (not in profession but I contribute to other University literary folios and websites ) and I believe that there’s a possibility that we might bring our battle to the consciousness of Zaido’s target audience (the high school-college age bracket). If it’s possible, I might contribute some articles regarding this matter. Anyway, thanks for the help. 🙂
