Death Note OP 2

I watch the anime Death Note because I like the idea of destroying evil people to create a new world, simply by writing their names in a journal. As an infamous Forbes article claims, that’s what bloggers do. Episode 20 just aired in Japan, rocking fans with a trippy new opening sequence.Click here to continue reading "Death Note OP 2"...

    What a dangerous idea.

What if you suddenly find your own name on a list like that, just because someone considers or even just blames you to be evil?

You know? Propaganda works that way, character assassination too.

Who is responsible for the ultimate judgment about evilness. When is evil evil enough?

Does everyone share your point of view considering a special person evil?

And what if you do your maths and find out that most evil people on your list belong to a special group?

I mean, hey, you are trying to create a better world (It might be better not to be all to specific about what “better” actually means here) and its obvious that the most evil people belong to this or that group, so why care for each person separately?

It’s the target that counts, isn’t it? So why waste time?

Just say: “We all agree that we must create a better world and so here I present the list of evil to be destroyed:

    The Jews
    The Arabs
    The Roma
    The gay
    The disabled
    The black
    The yellow
    The red
    and those who disagree”

    Does this sound familiar?
Millions of individuals have been killed before and in WW2, just because they belonged to one of these groups, regardless of any personal behavior. And still millions of families suffer from this tremendous historical injustice.

I personally see that this world is not just black and white and that life is not that simple and that my fellow humans are not so easily and obviously dividable into evil and not evil.

But we shall not close our eyes and pretend that this can not happen any more or does not already happen.

I personally believe that the mighty in this world still have and use these lists to make the public believe in the evilness of individuals and groups they need to be distroyed for their own advantage.

    And now again the questions:
Who do you consider evil now?
The ones on the list or the ones making the list?
What if your name is on this list?

You know what really bothers me? The Cookie Monster vocals of the new themes. The operatic vocals of the original themes were so much better.
