actually, ripping sailormoon off was never the plan. i don’t know why they decided to do what they did, but the costume in the filmed teaser was never the costume for the show itself. it did achieve its intended use though, the show is being talked about. because in show business, no news is bad news. (plus, dennis trillo slipped in a message to a fan prior to the teaser being aired. he said that first day of filming was delayed because the costumes weren’t done yet, but they had already filmed the teaser before he sent this message.)

many gma teasers featured costumes that sometimes appear and sometimes don’t in the series. first example is that of encantadia. the teaser costume was of a white flowing gown–which never appeared. then, there’s atlantika where the princesses were supposed to have the same pink/green costumes, that only one of them ended up wearing throughout.

Someone should just shoot the costume designer and be done with it. The alterations did very little to hide the fact that they’re sailormoon rip-offs. I don’t know about the story, but we’re talking about the costumes here.

I’m sure that someone out there can design costumes well enough to fit the story without ripping off someone else’s work.
