YouTube Adds Theater View

Think of it as removing interface distractions without the resource overhead of fullscreen. YouTube adds a theater view for feature-length videos. Watch it in action on Steve Jobs’ Stanford speech. I’ll probably never use it — anything worth watching theater-style is worth watching fullscreen — but it’s good to see YouTube try new things with its interface.
Of course, there’s still one interface distraction left: the slider bar. I’m waiting for an option to have that fade on mouseout.

100 Days On a Couch Live on Video
The Internet enables stay-at-homes, live video enables exhibitionists, and Long Tail advertising allows them to profit from it all. That’s what this guy’s doing, attempting to stay on his couch for the next one hundred days, for all the world to see, on Yahoo Live video at 100dayscam.com. He’s even crowdsourcing what he should do on cam.
Welcome to a world where you can get famous sitting on your couch. It’s his first day, and he’s already got pixel advertisers.
