Microsoft: Linux Steals From Us, But We Won’t Say How We Know

As if threatening Linux users for royalties wasn’t silly enough, Microsoft won’t even say how they came up with any basis for their threats.

Q: What kinds of tools/processes did Microsoft use to determine which open-source code allegedly infringes on Microsoft’s patents?

A: No further details are available at this time.

Oh. Wow. So they say people are stealing from them, but they won’t say how they know this. Riiight.

Google’s New Tagline and the Long Tail

Much like Google’s front page search box, their new tagline hides a great synergy in its simplicity: Search, ads, and apps.

Remember Google’s mission statement: Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Much of the world’s information is Long Tail content. Apps produce Long Tail content, search taps Long Tail content, and ads monetize Long Tail content. It’s a powerful cycle. Good thing their motto is Don’t be evil, eh?
