Yuma Asami: Fresh-Faced

And now, to take you into the weekend, here’s a newly-released closeup of fresh-faced Japanese idol Yuma Asami. She’s my current wallpaper.

Last year, this girl filmed in the Philippines even though she was down with a nasty cold, keeping up with costars Sora Aoi and Maria Ozawa. What a trooper!

Alodia at Herocon

One of the crowd draws at the Hanep Hataw Hero 3 anime convention was the appearance of Filipina gamer Alodia Gosiengfiao and friends. They sold signed prints of their photoportraits as a fundraiser for their Freelance Art Society.

I particularly like this shot of Alodia at the Wasabi Toys booth. Girls and Gundams, what more could you ask for?

What’s really interesting here is that these girls sold a lot of prints even though most of their photoportraits are freely available online. That’s what Hugh MacLeod does with his cartoons. Alodia and her friends are proving and learning that, when it comes to digital goods, abundance leads to value.
