Google Android Phone Leaked Details

T-Mobile G1With mere minutes to go before the official announcement of the first Google Android phone, the T-Mobile G1, here are the leaked details so far:

* In-store, immediate sales only available in locations within 5 miles of a 3G covered area. If a store is beyond that range, representatives will walk customers through a T-mobile.com purchase
* One touch access to: Search, Maps, Gmail, Youtube, Calendar, and Google Talk
* Gmail account and data plan required
* GPS
* 3.1 mp camera, no video recording
* No stereo bluetooth (A2DP)
* Dimensions: 4.6 x 2.16 x 0.63 in
* Weighs 5.6 ounces
* 480×320 65K color screen
* 5 hour talk time, 130 hour standby time
* Expandable up to 8GB

This first piece of Android hardware looks like it aims to be more accessible than impressive. We’ll probably see more of Android’s capabilities in later high-end handsets. Recall that Qualcomm’s upcoming Android phone is an OpenGL unit that plays Quake.

iPhone Girl Should Be Chinese Ellen Feiss

iPhone Chinese Girl

Between Chinese labor practices and Steve Jobs’ perfectionist whitewashing, this girl will probably lose her job. Let’s help her out and give her fifteen megabytes of fame. A new iPhone shipped to the UK comes with adorable photos of the Chinese girl who made it.

If Apple PR is smart, they’ll spin this into a humanizing positive — sort of a Chinese Ellen Feiss. Unfortunately, Apple PR isn’t very smart.
