Filipino MMA Fighters

Even though I’m six feet tall, I could never understand why Filipinos love basketball. Our players are shorter than Western players. It must be colonial mentality. As Manny Pacquiao demonstrates, we’re so much better at beating the shit out of people.

That’s why I was glad to see Filipino mixed martial artists Justin Cruz and Lino Tagacay duke it out at the Platinum Ring of Fire MMA event yesterday. Cruz finished the fight in one round. Clearly, Filipinos could stand a fighting chance in this sport.

I’ve always been a fan of the martial arts, so I’m going to the Platinum Ring of Fire mixed martial arts event at the Araneta Coliseum Sunday afternoon. Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie will be coaching teams.
