Abe-Olandres

Happy Problogaversary, Abe Olandres!

The Philippines’ most successful problogger, Abe “Yuga” Olandres, celebrates his first year of full time problogging today. He’s celebrating on the job, too: conducting a blogging workshop overseas.

I’m meeting with newly appointed CICT Commissioner Mon Ibrahim on Monday; I’ll definitely put forward the idea of Filipino problogging as a sunrise industry. Philippine IT policy development did not anticipate the rise of solo netrepreneurs, which is a pity considering the Filipino solo entrepreneurial spirit clearly demonstrated in offline industries. If you have any ideas on what this new industry needs from the government, post them in the comments. In a nation of natural social media adopters, may Abe’s tribe increase!

The Blogging Gospel of Yuga

In a nation of natural social media adopters, Abe “Yuga” Olandres is the Philippines’ most successful problogger. In this new video interview, he shares his blogging gospel.

  1. Create conversations.
  2. Either be unique, or be a good writer.
  3. 80% on-topic, 20% off-topic.
  4. Start with passion.
  5. Network, network, network.
  6. Be content and have fun.
