Street Fighter wushu goddess Chun-Li has brown eyes. Smallville star Kristin Kreuk has brown eyes. I have no idea why she has blue eyes in the latest teaser poster for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. It just makes her look that much less Chinese and that much more North American.

Granted Kristin has brown eyes in the actual movie, but Street Fighter fans have real reason to fear an inaccurate portrayal of their number one babe. This poster does nothing to help allay those fears.

Blue eyes may look good with a blue background and blue dress, but that’s the kind of thinking that kills Hollywood game adaptations: sacrificing character for eye candy. Read the rest of this entry »
