Lou Bonnevie and Toto Gentica: This is Fair Use
Since Lou Bonnevie and Toto Gentica of Dimitri Productions clearly do not grasp even the most basic intellectual property concepts, allow me to demonstrate to them fair use for comment and criticism in accordance with Section 185 of the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines:
Oh, and Dimitri, don’t bother reading through the Code for a loophole you can exploit. I already checked. I am not a laywer, but to the best of my understanding, nothing in that law could possibly justify what you did to Alodia and Tricia.

I’m a huge fan of people sharing information through fair use and attribution, but this clearly abides by neither. Philippine event organizer Dimitri Productions stole a photograph of Filipina gamer Alodia Gosiengfiao by Filipina photographer Tricia Gosingtian. They replaced Alodia’s head with a globe and used the photo in posters for their Earth Day Jam concert. No attribution, no notification, no compensation, nada. Read more

My friend Roman Ang recently did a photoshoot with a common acquaintance of ours: Japanese-Filipina entrepreneur Donna Paz.
I had coffee with Donna a few years back. She seemed like a cool girl — really nice, yet really spunky. That’s why I’m not surprised to hear she now owns a chain of bakeries.
