You’re Under Arrest Full Throttle Episode 7: Natsumi and Miyuki Earn Back My Attention

I was about to give up on the anime You’re Under Arrest Full Throttle right after that sickeningly saccharine Car Lock Baby episode, but the series redeems itself as the girls get down to some actual police work in After That Mysterious Taxi!

Miyuki goes CSI and takes a pipe to the head, while Natsumi goes streetwise and gets wasted. Even Nakajima goes Evil Knievel and busts some heads. All that, and the girls wear cute wigs, too. Finally, we’re seeing the more of the full throttle featured in the first episode.

Congratulations, girls. Even though you got smacked by a pipe and kicked to the curb, you’ve earned back my attention.

Pity the Offline Media Dinosaurs

I envy Americans sometimes. Over there, they can afford to pity offline media dinosaurs willing to change their ways. Over here in the Jurassic Philippines, offline media dinosaurs are still ruthless tyrants who must be eradicated for online media mammals to rise.

ABS-CBN Multiply Deal: Clueless

Philippine TV station ABS-CBN has no idea how to do business online. Instead of partnering with online video leader YouTube to effortlessly promote themselves and earn revenue, they’re partnering with bottom-tier social network Multiply just to sell some ad space.

Clearly, the dinosaurs in local TV land just cannot wrap their brains around simple and smart new business models. As for me, I’m just glad my blog isn’t on Multiply. If you have to tell the world you’ve cut an ad sales deal with some third-world TV station, you’re in serious trouble.
