Marc Macalua is banging his head against his desk looking for good Filipino web designers. Having worked in two web design firms, I sympathize with his plight. Here’s what he needs, but can’t seem to find:

I know I’m aiming high, too high it seems. But that’s the standard I need: a visual monster with a healthy dose of Jakob Nielsen-ish tendencies, a thinking designer if you will. Now the market for that special skill group is incredibly sparse. Factor in the full time requirement and you end up with close to zero hits.

I need someone who’s willing to make that daily commute to a real desk and a real office and unfortunately for me, the good ones that don’t shun the corporate world are already taken.

Any good Filipino web designers in the Philippines who can help him out?

The king of search is looking to buy its way into job search. Job search engine Simply Hired claims Google is in talks to buy them. Simply Hired’s appeal: superdistribution.

The job search engine most recently made news with the launch of its job-o-matic which creates widgets for bloggers to create their own job boards… Simply Hired almost seems like it was built to be acquired by Google. Its angels are GOOG angels, its based in Mountain View, it targets the long tail and landed a MySpace deal, and Google doesn’t have a job search tool.

Between AdSense and Simply Hired, all your jobs will belong to Google.

Hinge Inquirer Publications‘ Kevin Codamon is a cool guy who actually knows what he’s doing — a fantastic rarity in Philippine media. That’s why I’m reposting his requirement for a blog administrator.

Hinge Inquirer Publications, the philippines’ leading niche publications company, is looking for a Blog Administrator. This is a fulltime position. Responsibilities would include but not limited to: Wordpress administration, plugin management, theme management, and content distribution for multiple blogs including m-ph.com and gamemagazine.ph.
