Concert Producer Steals Filipina Blogger’s Photo

I’m a huge fan of people sharing information through fair use and attribution, but this clearly abides by neither. Philippine event organizer Dimitri Productions stole a photograph of Filipina gamer Alodia Gosiengfiao by Filipina photographer Tricia Gosingtian. They replaced Alodia’s head with a globe and used the photo in posters for their Earth Day Jam concert. No attribution, no notification, no compensation, nada. Read the rest of this entry »

ABS-CBN Takes Down Sharon Sotto YouTube Clip

To my knowledge, Filipina import model Sharon Sotto is not an ABS-CBN “talent” (and I use the term loosely). Apparently, ABS-CBN thinks they own everybody. They just took down a YouTube clip of the US model.

Once again, ABS-CBN frivolously takes down a YouTube clip they don’t own. I’d like to remind ABS-CBN management that DMCA takedown notices require sworn statements. They may well be committing multiple acts of perjury, acts for which they may someday be held accountable. I’m sure the EFF would love to make that happen.

Surely having some dumb intern do indiscriminate YouTube searches isn’t worth that legal risk.
