Alodia Endorses TinierMe

Filipina gamer and cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao.

Filipina gamer and cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao has been endorsing video games from various Philippine game publishers since 2004. In fact, her reputation as a popular gamer girl reaches across the globe: she’s in talks to appear in the upcoming movie based on the hit Warcraft game franchise.

Gamer Girl Since Before Birth

The Warcraft movie may be slated for 2013, but this game endorser is going global much earlier than that. She’s now an endorser for TinierMe, a casual browser-based virtual world and social network from Japan featuring cute anime-style avatars.

Part of the reason Alodia’s so popular as a game endorser is the fact that she’s actually a gamer -– and not of the FarmVille or Bejeweled dabbler variety, mind you. She’s played everything from fantasy titles like World of Warcraft and the Final Fantasy series, to shooters like Counter-Strike and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Heck, Alodia’s mom was playing Super Mario Bros. when she went into labor.

Interacting Effectively in Virtual Environments

Not only does Alodia’s gaming experience make her relatable to gamers, it also enables her to actively participate in the games she endorses. Alodia’s ability to interact effectively in virtual environments was actually a key consideration when she was chosen to endorse TinierMe.

That particular advantage is not lost upon TinierMe publisher GCrest, who will be putting Alodia to work inside their virtual world. With games now bigger than movies, celebrities would do well to learn how to pilot an in-game avatar. The next wave of top endorsers may well be geeks and gamers.

Check out this image of Alodia’s custom-designed in-game avatar, along with the full press release from GCrest. Yes, a girl who cosplays game characters just had a game character made to resemble her, a game character she’ll probably end up cosplaying. How very meta.
