Video StatsBlame it all on streaming Desperate Housewives. A new study shows that online video is becoming less and less the exclusive reserve of tech-happy young guys. The number of women streaming video online jumped 9% between December 2007 and June 2008. The number of people 55 and older jumped 6% within that same period.

I’m tempted to resent this influx of uncultured newbie mouse potatoes, but I won’t. Unlike in television, where good shows constantly get killed because they’re just not “mainstream” enough, the economic efficiencies of online video allow for all kinds.
