Habbo and Age of Conan Coming to the Philippines

In 2007, the Philippine gaming market began maturing to the point that it could bring in big-name games. Good to see that trend continue towards the end of 2008.

Singapore-based game distributor New Era Digital Interactive Media is bringing Habbo and Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures to the Philippines. Yup, that’s one very casual game and one very hardcore game, both big brands. It will be interesting to see how both fare here. Local industry veteran Allan Carbonell, who previously worked with another publisher to bring Guild Wars and Lineage II to the Philippines, will be in charge of reeling these babies onto our shores as New Era’s Philippine country manager.

Habbo? Naku Sir Mike, dapat mag-ingat. Yung mga noobs gagaya sa 4chan-style POOL’S CLOSED at Habbo Raids.

Someone should also bring us The Tower Or Druaga MMORPG, or at least make The World (from .hack) real. They should make more out of those ones.

  3. Quagmire says:

That’s a big mistake. Age of conan has too high specs for this Market. Not to mention that it’s not doing to well versus the other name brand games.
