Alodia in the News
Nevermind that Filipina blogger Alodia Gosiengfiao is pretty in this picture, or that the composition provides a visual metaphor for her newsworthiness as a Filipina otaku queen and a case study in personal online branding. That’s not what I found remarkable about this picture.
What I found remarkable is that she posted it under a Creative Commons license. For all you fanboys out there, that means you are explicitly free to repost this picture as long as you follow a specific set of rules recognized by Philippine law. Before this, she always released content under old-fashioned permission-based copyright.
In an interview last week, the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Alex Villafania asked for my opinion of Alodia as a blogger. If she keeps embracing digital abundance this way, that opinion just might go up a notch.

SHE SOUNDS LIKE A SLUT.
IMO, actually that pose reminds me of one of the AV idols. But she’s pretty.
She looks like a clown.
I’d put it in her mouth, if you know what I mean.

YOU SOUND LIKE A KISS ASS FAN BOY!
but that’s kinda one of the selectable copyright settings in DA, ya idiot. she probably didn’t even think about it. besides, naturally, she’d set it where a ton of other idiot fanboy maniacs like yourself can repost it or fap to it or whatever.

Great job filtering comments, “freedom of speech advocate”. Hypocrite. You should have been aborted.
