The ignorance, coupled with the obnoxiousness (to compensate for their ignorance), of most bank frontliners is largely the fault of a-holes in senior management who do not share trends with their subordinates. It’s either they revel in the power of being privy to the latest buzz or they don’t understand the concept themselves that they’d rather not echo details to the tellers and clerks. Too bad for these lowly employees who bear the brunt of irate customers like us. You see, most banks here in RP are run by septuagenarians in suits who won’t give a rat’s ass about PayPal enabling payments for Filipinos. They’re guaranteed millions of pesos when they retire in a couple of years, so why should they help disseminate this news to hardworking Pinoy e-entrepreneurs? Just my two cents’.

  15. Shandy on April 6th, 2008 11:48 am

Thanks for the list! All the banks here don’t even know what a bank code is. They keep insisting that it’s a SWIFT code. It’s soo frustrating how behind the bank employees are when it comes to news like these!

  16. Metal Munky on April 7th, 2008 4:01 am

    To Shandy:
I suppose many bank employees don’t know this because the bank management didn’t train them regarding this new technology. Anyway, Sir Mike thanks for putting the codes for everyone to see.
Regarding somebody getting paid for the pay per clicks, as far as I can remember, when you sign up to have it, you are given a set of policies on how you get paid, provisions on how to get your money and such.
To someone asking if BPI code is the same with BPI Family Savings Bank, it’s the same, just look at your PayPal account and see if you’ve given the correct bank account number.
To Jintu: would Paypal accept dollar accounts? Well, is the Pope Catholic? Of course my dear! The difference is, the bank account number you’re going to register as primary account on your PayPal. Hope I’ve helped a bit on everyone’s questions.

Thank you Mike for posting this.

I was trying to contact BDO coz I need to setup a PayPal account.

I called their call center and the branch where my savings account exists. But they cannot provide info. They insist that the swift code is the only code they have. That’s total bullshit!

It’s my money that I’m waiting and I need that money. It’s been hanging on air since last week coz BDO cannot furnish the damn bank code. How stupid!

  18. jintudesigns on May 4th, 2008 11:05 am

There are a lot of banks listed above. Better to migrate your account.

  19. clarissa on May 16th, 2008 9:34 pm

Thank you for the list of bank codes. I think the Management of these banks should inform their employees especially those working in the branches and customer service call centers about PayPal Philippines.
