Yahoo VP Bradley Horowitz says Filipinos love Flickr. He said this at the Renaissance Hotel, a short walk from Glorietta. That’s why Flickr has a bunch of photos from the aftermath of the Glorietta bombing.

  1. 2 of my co-Java 2EE trainees are the victims on these blast. Namely: Jee Ann De Gracia and Cesar Niño Vidamo. They’re my friends during our training. I’m really sad about whay happened to them. I just wanna call out all the STI alumni to pray for Jee Ann and Niño. Also for Maureen De Leon who’s also missing, she’s also one of my co-Trainees. Thank you very much.

  8. jee ann, maureen, and niño are my closest friends. they were my co-java trainees from an IT company in manila. i was supposed to go with them during that lunch out. 11am that friday jee ann sent several messages in ym, inviting me to have lunch with her together with onin and mau. i was too busy wit my work during that time so, i decided no to reply because i knew that if i did reply, kahit isang beses mapipilit nila ko no matter how busy i am. ganun kami ka-close ng mga yan. i really dont know how to feel right now.. i was lucky not to have joined them, pero it’s really hard to accept that i lost 3 of my friends in just 1 day… =(

  13. I don’t know, Lusanto. Java is developed by Sun, but a lot of enterprises use it. Maybe their friends can clarify.

  16. the 3 of them were not from sun microsystem. they were java developers. jee ann just passed her sun certification exam last oct 7. jeeann and i had lunch that day, after she passed her exam. she was so happy she forced me to give away my lunch, kasi gusto nya ko ilibre.. we had lunch at enterprise bldg.

  18. Those 3 people have taught me new things and techniques in Java programming. They’re very good in Java and they’ve been very helpful to me to be able to cope up with the hard days of our training. I owe them those things that I’ve learned from them. I’ll miss you.

  23. I have an incomplete grade in Java since it was one of my majors in Arellano University-Pasay last semester. But I realize one thing about the three Java programmers who died on that fateful day: That we must continue the burning spirit of these individuals that were robbed by this incident.
    It takes time to remember the Java code, as much as we remember the memories of these programmers of tomorrow.
