Well, I'm not *certain*, but I think Yahoo, like any really big corporation is really slow to make changes. I have a client who was running MT3.2 on Yahoo SB and I managed to run a manual upgrade to get MT3.35 running. It was a bit of a hassle, but only because running the upgrade meant disabling Yahoo's hooks, and getting to PHPMyAdmin through Yahoo's control panel was virtually impossible. All in all, it can be done.

I've been running Movable Type 3.2 on Yahoo for while....I love it!! Movable Type 4.0 is now released, however Yahoo has not upgraded from version 3.2. My understanding is that Yahoo has not yet tested or approved 4.0 on it's servers for "Automatic" updates.

Does anyone know when Yahoo is going to upgrade the Movable Type version they provide in their Web Hosting from version 3.2 to 4.0?

Also, where can we find step-by-step instructions to manually install 4.0 to upgrade 3.2 on a Yahoo! hosted version?

Thanks
Ed

There seems to be a lot of emotion over a company that has the most choices to offer any kind of blogger. I intend to check out the beta before offering criticism... I hear MT4 is quite compelling and worth giving a try.

Okay, so Vox is less of a n00b pit than LiveJournal. Techies like Jepoy and Leo redeem it to some extent.

i prefer Vox for personal blogging. It's very limited but the fact that I could upload pictures and videos for free is good. :~)

In any market, those who are first to innovate and stake claim will usually dominate the market... MT may just be too late

I find it unfortunate that instead of celebrating people who are just discovering this medium, you're busy criticizing their platforms. We should all be on the side of getting more people blogging, no?
