ImageShack Violates Own Privacy Policy for Fun

Tags: | |

See, here’s why I always preferred Flickr and Photobucket. I always sensed an air of irresponsibility around ImageShack.

Alexander “MacBeth” Levin opted to violate his company’s privacy guidelines and expose user information. This is data that ImageShack claims will remain private in their TOS agreement. At the behest of a friend, MacBeth decided to expose usage information by IP, compromising the privacy and security of his user base. Not a wise business move.

Kids, don’t use ImageWhack. Stick with Flickr for photo-sharing and Photobucket for image-only hosting. Better yet, build your own damn site. Here’s a discount code for DreamHost.
