2007 Philippine Biotechnology Venture Summit

2007 Philippine Biotechnology Venture Summit
Rockwell Center, Makati
January 10 to 12, 2007

Hybridigm Consulting, the first biotechnology consultancy firm in the country, proudly presents the Philippine Biotech Venture Summit: The 3nd Annual Conference on Biotechnology Enterprise and Investment.

The Summit’s primary objective is to promote the advancement and better understanding of Biotechnology in the Philippines by calling together Philippine Scientists, Academics, Regulators, Policy Formulators, Venture Capitalists, and Mainstream businessmen to discuss new trends, discoveries and business opportunities.

This 3-day summit aims to educate scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, managers in pharmaceutical firms, policy makers, as well as corporate and intellectual property lawyers.

More information on the conference site and in the PDF brochure. I know nothing about biotechnology, so I cannot vouch for the content of this conference. What I can vouch for is the technology evangelist behind it. Here’s a clip of the conference creator, Hybridigm CEO Maoi Arroyo, on a medical mission way back in 1998 — years before she flew to Cambridge to study bioscience enterprise and bring that knowledge home to the Philippines.

She’s appeared on TV many times since. She reminds me of Google VP Marissa Mayer — extremely authoritative, yet adorably geeky.
